2012 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 4,500 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 8 years to get that many views.

A good 2012 ahead!

It has been a while since I last updated this blog. Guess blogging is not in trend anymore after the existence of Facebook. Besides, the working life is kinda hectic where I rather spare the free time to sleep =S Yes, I love sleeping very much! So do you? However, I have this urge to blog since the new year is here.
Sorry for the slight delay as we are in the second month of the year already.

My 2011
My 2011

Anyway, here’s a sneak peek on my year of 2o11.
You may view more pics on my FB.

Well, I must say 2011 was a very fruitful one to me.
Been to the land of Aussie, slacking and enjoying laid back lifestyle there for a month+.
After the trip, successfully gotten myself a job not knowing what media planning is about.
In addition, I was really lucky to be able to join the company trip and brought myself all the way to the soul of Asia – Korea!
A very enjoyable getaway with my fellow colleagues.
Hence, 2011 has been really good to me.
I’m so thankful for that. Sincerely thanks to those who made my 2011 an awesome one!

 So, what’s for 2012?
Not so sure about it yet but I wish it will be an even better year ahead!

Dragon CNY

Dragon CNY

The year has began with the CNY celebration.
Had real fun back in the hometown for a week.
It was rather short. In fact, I’ll never have enough to my stay back at home.
Home is always the best ❤

For this very 1st entry in 2012, I hereby wishing all of you a good year ahead blessed with joyfulness and prosperity!
HUAT AHHH!!

Recharge

Hectic life ever since I joined the working community.
Working life = lifeless.

KL view from the plane
KL view from the plane

Super long break no more.
Cannot go home n grow mushroom for months anymore.
Going home is about taking annual leave and public holiday.
Slacking no more for not going to work as I like as how we skipped lectures/tutorials back in uni.
Have no rights to simply take a day OFF.

Sunday: Monday blue
Monday: Working day
Tues: Working day
Wed: Working day
Thurs: Working day
Fri: Working day n TGIF as weekend is here!
Sat: Resting day

So basically, get up early for work, jam on the road, lunch, work till the sky gets dark, think wat’s for dinner, eat, shower n sleep are my weekdays routine.

Weekends are about hanging out and doing the chores =)

Am glad and grateful that I hv this week off to hv gone home for like FINALLY.
Been homesick for quite a while.

Oh well, the other quarter of the year is here! It’s Sept!
Time to get myself recharged during this break and get prepared to battle over the coming workload.

 Working life ain’t bad afterall.
Worth for the experience and wat not, for the sake of life.

Hey, friends out there! If you are in the workforce like I do, let’s fight together!
Fighting!  Cheers ❤

Jln jln cari makan di Melbourne

Wanted to blog about my trip to Melbourne long ago. Yet time ran too quickly n did not allow me to.
I have tonnes of pictures taken n would like to share with y’all.
FB stalkers would have already seen them.
But still, I hv the urge to compile an entry here which I think it’s different from merely browsing the pixies through FB?
Anyway, if you are starving now, I would like to advise you to kindly leave this page.

So yea, as the title suggests, this entire post gonna be on the food I had in Melbourne City!

What for brunch?

Rose Garden
Rose Garden BBQ Shop @ Elizabeth Street

Upon my arrival to the city, my boy brought me to this Rose Garden BBQ Shop for brunch.
This restaurant serves very big portion of meals in which the plate of my supposed-to-be-1 serving salted fish fried mihun looks like a sharing meal for two!

Apart for the XXL sized meal, our lovely fren – SPY highly recommended their salt pepper chicken.
So ppl visit the restaurant for it’s XXL meals with yummilicious taste and
most importantly, for it’s reasonable price in the city.

Breakfast at Centre Place
Breakfast at Centre Place

Grabbed the chance to enjoy a meal at Centre place – the busy laneway with various bars, restaurants and shops
together with the long time no see woman from Adelaide.

I cannot remember the name of this Italian restaurant but I do love the risotto and beef stew rice they serve.

Reunion

Centre Place
Centre Place with Tokyo feel?

The ladies’ favourite camwhore session is BACK!

Hainaichi
Hainaichi

There’s this Japanese fast food chain in OZ.
Emily brought me there to try out their best selling Kay’s Chicken
no doubt, the kay’s chicken did not disappoint us.

A variety of teas can be found in the restaurant.
As recommended by Emily, their lychee tea is really good.

Sushi Burger
Sushi Burger

Coming up next – Sushi Burger!

It’s japanese cuisine again. Ppl in Melbourne do fancy Japanese food I guess.
In fact, I had a wide range of cuisines from Japan to Chinese to Indon to Thai to Vietnam n etc.
The food variety tells how much of migrants Melbourne has.

Btw, back to the topic! Yes, speaking of sushi burger, must try their Spicy Raw Salmon sushi burger!
It’s finger licking good to go with the special sauce in the burger.
OMG, I’m craving for it now!

Okie, upon the request of one of my loyal fans, I would like to hereby express my gratitude
to my HPY MISS CHARLENE LAI CHERN LIN who reckoned this stunning delicious sushi burger to us.
Xie xie ni HPY, ni de ren hen hao…! Xie xie! arigatou gozaimass… kamsahamida!

Ying Thai @ Lygon

Ying Thai @ Lygon

Tried this thai restaurant located at Lygon called Ying Thai.
It’s a popular Thai restaurant as the crowd tells.

Their seafood tomyam was amazingly good! Way too hot to me but yet I suka =)

Stalactites
Stalactites @ Lonsdale Street

If you’re running late for a dinner whereby most of the restaurants in the city have probably closed, no worries,
you may visit Stalactites – the famous Greek restaurant in Melb that operates for 24 hours!
Try their kebab which is so called souvlaki in their menu.
I would suggest u to order Lamb souvlaki which I think it’s the best among all!

Little Lamb
Little Lamb @ Russel St

Another MUST visit restaurant – Little Lamb!

If you are very very hungry, you may go for this eat-all-you-can steamboat.

eat all u can!
eat all u can!

Worth the money and the steamboat is really good with their tasty soup bases and different types of sauces!

Best to eat when you cannot stand the coldness in town!

Something to munch on?

Lord of the fries
Lord of the fries

You will love to try tis lord of the fries which can be found in
Melbourne Central and somewhere near Flinders as you’ll see the crowd queuing for tat.

Sushi rolls
Sushi rolls

I love the way sushi is served in Melbourne.
It’s easy to eat and I heart the soy sauce that they pack in the fishie little bottle.
You can just drip the soy sauce accordingly to your preference with no hassle!

Do visit TOKUI sushi at Swanston Street for the cheapest sushi in town! $2 per roll =)

That’s all for now. Time to hit the sack.
More to come! Stay tuned*

Reality

It’s time to back to reality after living in the world of fantasy for a few months.
Ain’t easy to walk to reality after so much of indulgences I had.
Oh well, I hv to walk on no matter how hard it is.
I have to open my eyes to witness what life is.

As we grow, we gone through different stages in life.
Like education, we begin from pre-school education to primary to secondary to tertiary education.
After all, we have to join the community and explore on, to discover what the real world is.

Hell yes,
I am joining the community and exploring on.

Vizeum entry pass

Am glad that I’ve gotten a job as recommended by a friend of mine.
Thanks to my beloved HPY! Jobless no more =)
Hv joined the family for a week.
Nice working environment with friendly people.
Will keep my fingers crossed and I hope this turning point can be a fruitful one.

Hello WORLD!

鸡笼

The long waited april was here eventually and slipped away in a blink of eyes.
I’ve been confined in this chicken cage 鸡笼 = Geelong for more than a month.
Few more days left and I will be released to fly back to reality.

Some of you may not heard of this City just like I did,
can’t believe tat I’m actually here!
Anyway, it takes you only an hour journey to come here from Melbourne City.

Waterfront
Waterfront – the Heart of Geelong

FYI, Geelong is the largest regional city in Victoria.
Waterfront is the MUST visit place if you happen to come Geelong.

Eastern Beach

It’s nice to stroll along the bay with the breeze.

You can spot a number of bollards are installed in Waterfront.

Baywalk bollards
Baywalk bollards

“The bollards chronicle characters from the city’s past and present,
including dapper young ladies in neck-to-knee bathing costumes,
1930s lifesavers, a Geelong footballer, jaunty sailors, fishermen and a town band.” (visitvictoria.com 2011)

Ford Discovery Centre

Managed to visit both Wool museum and Ford discovery centre.
More pics on my FB.
Grabbed the opportunity to see wool’s production and antique cars by Ford.

Westfield
Westfield

Westfield is where we shopped for our groceries
where we can find the nearest Coles.

Market Square
Market Square

As I was told, Aussie is a very laid-back country and here proves the statement.
Look at the shops! All closed at 5pm to 6pm.

Empty street
Empty street

The city turns into silence after 6pm.

So hmmm.. Msia is not too bad afterall, with shopping malls and shops operate till 10pm at least.
Msians should be blessed with that.
We still have loads to do when the night is still young.

Roof top view
Roof top view

Discovered and in loved with this picturesque view
when I first climbed up to the roof top to do the laundry.

View for the other side
View for the other side

So yeap, there’s nothing much can be done in Geelong.
Do up the chores like cooking, laundry n cleaning up the room are my major tasks here.

In fact, the living expenses here are undoubtedly much higher,
especially to a Malaysian like me who used to spend RM than AUD $.

It’s way cheaper if you get to cook yourself and avoid eating out.

We normally cook together-gather with the boys here for our dinner.
Glad tat we even had Kuching Laksa here in Geelong.

家 是永远最好的!

自四年前,离乡背景赴大城市追求梦想,
也经历了两个月的实习;
